Hang on! This route taxes my vocabulary to the limit in describing this fabulous ride! From views of the Pacific Ocean to mountains, lakes, forests, river valleys and vistas, there is beauty to be seen at every turn. My vocabulary may be inadequate, but this book has over 20 photos for you to enjoy. The book is written in three sections. The first describes this route and what you will see on the Coast Starlight and the interesting towns and cities the train stops at. The second section describes the train cars; Sleepers, Dining Car, Lounge Car and coaches. It is helpful to know "who's who" among the Amtrak staff, from the coach attendants to the conductors. The third section answers frequently asked questions about traveling on the train. There are helpful hints to make your journey more enjoyable and cost saving information as well. Ride the train, it's FUN!
